Saint Bernards

Alberta, Canada

Check the Senior Dogs page for new information.

Located in the foothills of Alberta's Rocky Mountains, Heidisaint Kennels began in 1976 with the purchase of two Saint Bernard bitches from Bergwacht Kennels (Karl and Mary Winters)located in Aldergove, British Columbia. Bergwacht Kennels had strong breed lines based on Bea Knight's Sanctuary Wood's lines and some select European imports. These two girls grew on me (as Saint Bernards are know to do in many ways) and Saint Bernards became a passion for me.

Since that time I have bred or co-bred at least six American champions and many Canadian champions. I have taken Best of Winners at the Saint Bernard Club of America Nationals (Heidisaint's Macho shown by Karl Winter ) and Winners Bitch at another National (Heidisaint's Ruggin Robin shown by Shirley Tsagris). I strive to show and obtain championships on all of my breeding stock however the lack of Saint Bernards in the Alberta conformation rings and the the distance to U.S. shows often makes this a challenge.
